Registered Music Therapist
Michael holds a Master of Creative Music Therapy from Western Sydney University, a Bachelor of Music (Hons) from Monash University and has a professional background in music performance and as a teacher for children with disabilities.
Michael has experience working with a range of age groups in educational, disability and mental health programs.
Michael’s creative music therapy approaches include improvisation, using technology, composition, drumming and pre-selected repertoire to harness individual strengths and enhance ability. Michael has a special interest in social empowerment. He strives to work with all stakeholders to assist clients in feeling fulfilled and included in the community.
Professionally trained as a double bass player, Michael also plays the piano, guitar, ukulele and cello. Additionally, he has a keen interest in world music singing Korean opera and playing a North African instrument called a Guimbri.
